Congratulations to David Keir on Receiving the 2017 Homecoming Award

On October 14, 2017, Mr. David Keir was presented with the 2017 Smith Academy Homecoming Award. Mr. Keir has served as a teacher, coach, and friend to Smith Academy since 1983. Surrounded by students, teachers, and community members, Mr. Keir was presented with a plaque in front of Smith Academy prior to the start of the Homecoming Parade.  In a speech, Dr. Berrios honored David Keir by saying Mr. Keir "provided our students with the tools necessary to prepare them for college and/or career readiness. Serving in many capacities over the last three decades, Mr. Keir has become a key pillar in pushing Smith Academy to grow and provide more to our school community."   After the ceremony, David and Brenda joined the class floats in the parade, riding in a golf cart as they weaved their way through Town.

Also recognized by Dr. Berrios were this year's Homecoming King and Queen; Hunter Zygmont, and Shannon Hogan.  Taking the honors for this years winning class floats were the Juniors and the Seventh grade. Congratulations to all the classes and class advisors for the outstanding job done this year on all the floats.  Thank you to all who came out to support our fundraising booths and to cheer on our student athletes.
