Dear Parents/Guardians,

Now that the hustle and bustle of the Holidays are over I hope my January newsletter finds you and your family doing well and everyone is ready to get back to a regular routine of school!

I want to Thank Mr. John Robert and the Hatfield School Committee for having the confidence to appoint me as Interim Principal for the remainder the school year.  I am excited for the opportunity to serve our community and your children.  An extensive search for a permanent Principal to be ready to go on July 1 will begin in the Spring.

The information and updates regarding the Washington, D.C. trip are HERE.  Parents/Guardians who wish to have their 8th grader participate must make a $150.00 down payment on or before March 22, 2019.  The remaining balance, and any outstanding class dues from 7th and 8th grade, must be paid in full by May 10, 2019.  The annual class dues amount is $60.00 per year.  Mrs. Kristy Dadmun or I can answer questions you may have regarding class dues and whether you may be eligible for a reduction in the price based upon financial need.  If you need a reminder as to whether you paid your dues for this year or last year, please call us.

On behalf of the Smith Academy community I want to wish Mr. Kevin McGrath well in his new venture.  Thank You for the last year and a half of service to our children.

Starting on January 2, 2019 Mr. Philip Pittelli will take over for Mrs. Gingras as our Middle School Math teacher.  Dr. Adam Garand will be taking over for Mr. McGrath beginning January 2nd as well.  We are also excited to welcome Mr. Michael Afflitto who started right before the holidays as a paraprofessional in the Middle School.  Many of you know Mike who is our JV Boys Basketball and Varsity Baseball Coach.

To All Hatfield Residents - The Town Hall recently sent out the annual census forms.  It is vitally important that everyone complete these and return them to the Town Hall.  Our Census does have an effect on our State and Federal funding for the School Department.  We Thank You in advance for your cooperation.

We have several fundraisers underway or about to get underway.  If you are interested in supporting the group/class in their efforts please see the following:
