Grade 12 MCAS schedule for January

Grade 12 MCAS testing in January - important dates

Good morning, 

Please make a note of the following dates in relation to the MCAS Legacy testing in January. Remember that you need to pass ELA and Math in order to graduate High School. Also please remember that there will be another testing session in the Spring should you be unsuccessful in January.



Math & ELA revision/ preparation: Wednesdays with Mr Brown & Dr. LeGrand  - they have sent you links to a specific MCAS Prep Google classroom



Please make a note of the days that you will be required to be in school for testing:



Practice Test

Tuesday Jan 5th: 8:30-9:30 & 10:00 - 11:00: Computer Based Practice test (A chrome book will be provided for you)



ELA

Thursday Jan 14th ELA Composition: 8:30-10 Session A, 10:15 - 11:30 Session B

Friday Jan 15th ELA Reading Comprehension: 8:30-10 Session 1, 10:15 - 11:30 Session 2

Monday Jan 18 ELA Reading Comprehension: 8:30-10 Session 3 (You may go home after this session/ remain in school until 11:50)

Tuesday Jan 19th: ELA Make-up day: 8:30-11:30 (if needed)



Math

Thursday Jan 21st: Math Session 1, 8:30-10 (You may go home after this session/ remain in school until 11:50)

Friday Jan 22nd: Math Session 2, 8:30-10 (You may go home after this session/ remain in school until 11:50)

Monday Jan 25th: Math Make-up day: 8:30-11:30 (if needed)

Please follow the link to find examples of the Legacy tests for Math and ELA. Your prep classes with Mr Brown and Dr. LeGrand will also help familiarize yourself with the tests you will take in January.

School closure in the event of COVID

We will take advice from the Board of Health and Covid Coordinator should we close and look at finding a way to test in school on the above dates. Should we be unable to do so, you will have to test in the Spring.
