Covid Testing at HPS

March 17, 2021.  As you may know, free Pooled Testing for Covid-19 is now available at Hatfield Public Schools through April 18 thanks to a state-wide DESE initiative.  As we transition to full, in-person learning, pooled testing will add an important, convenient and time-efficient layer to the comprehensive safety protocols already in place at HPS.   Each week, enrolled students and staff will use a swab to circle 4 times just inside the opening of each nostril.  Swabs from each classroom will be collected in less than 5 minutes, "pooled" together in a collection tube, and sent to our partner lab: Concentric By Gingko Pooled Testing for Schools Program.   If any pool tests positive, each member of that particular pool will be notified and tested individually with a followup rapid antigen test provided at the beginning of the next school day; rapid test results are available in less than 30 minutes.  Any individual from the rapid test testing positive will need to isolate at home following DPH and local Board of Health regulations.

Pooled and followup rapid test individuals who test negative, return to class and test again next week.

To enroll, please complete and submit the online Concentric By Gingko Consent Form,  Use our access code: [helix-hatfield].   If you need a hard copy sent home, please contact your child's building nurse (melliott@hatfeildps.net or jhobbie@hatfieldps.net).
