Back to school planning

The HPS Admin team is currently working on back to school planning around the Acceleration Roadmap, published by DESE. This is a document focussed on guiding schools to provide equitable recovery for all students from academic and social and emotional gaps brought about through COVID learning experiences. The Smith Academy plan will be shared prior to the start of school.

Mask recommendation inside the building

Hatfield Public Schools encourages the use of masks during any presence in our school buildings during the summer. Masking indoors and other safety guidance is not required but is strongly encouraged. The DESE summer guidance is in alignment with the state guidance encouraging unvaccinated individuals to continue to wear a mask. The DPH mask advisory advises unvaccinated residents to wear masks in indoor settings when they can't socially distance themselves.
