Smith Principal News

BRRRRRRR!!!! It's really cold outside!

1.  I encourage all of our students to dress in layers and allow yourself to be comfortable during these cold days of January!

2.  Ms. Shockey's  8th grade students coded their first games a few weeks ago.  The attached document includes links to exemplars if you think parents might be interested.

3.  Hello Class of 2023 Parents.

We have a few updates about fundraisers that are going on. At this point, I hope your student has informed you about the Hillside Pizza fundraiser we are doing. We are asking each student to try to sell at least 5 pizzas. We are required to sell a minimum number of pizzas to make profit. Five is a very attainable and reachable goal so please try your best! All it takes is a quick walk around your neighborhood or asking your relatives! Order forms are due on January 27th. Pizzas will be delivered to the school on February 3rd. We handed out order forms before winter break so I hope you've sold some already! Please note, the party packs only count as one unit. Also, if you are using a check to purchase the pizzas, all checks must be made out to Smith Academy Class of 2023, NOT Hillside Pizza. Again, orders are due by Thursday, January 27th. Your student can either give the order form to our class advisor, Madam Boyle, or to class president, Hadley Szynal.

Our grade is also in charge of selling the carnation flowers for Valentines Day this year! If your student would like to purchase some, they are 1 for $2, 3 for $3, and $5 for 5. We also are looking for volunteers to sign up to run the booth in the mornings if your student is interested! Thank you so much for your help!
