Happy Friday from Hatfield Elementary School.

As you know, this is my last update as principal of Hatfield Elementary School, as Monday will be my first day as principal of Smith Academy. I feel incredibly fortunate to have had the opportunity to be principal at HES for the last 18 months. Though the pandemic has been trying for the school and the community, I have been incredibly impressed by the hard work and dedication of the staff here, and by the support of the community. Most of all, I have been impressed by the resilience, good humor, and happiness of the kids at HES. If it’s true that it “takes a village,” our kids show that Hatfield is one heck of a village!

I consider myself very lucky, that as the years progress, I will be able to see the kids that I have come to know well at HES as they turn into young men and women at Smith Academy.

As the leadership of HES transitions to a new principal, Superintendent Michael Wood will be taking over in the interim. Any questions related to HES should be directed to him or Jackie Pelc, our administrative assistant. Their email addresses are: mwood@hatfieldps.net; jpelc@hatfieldps.net

Currently we have three active cases of Covid-19 at HES. Unless you received an email with the subject line “Close Contact Notification,” please know that your child is not considered to have been a close contact.

As we try to provide options for families interested in vaccination clinics at HES, please consider taking a minute to fill out this survey to communicate your interest.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. Stay warm and dry. I look forward to seeing you all at Smith Academy.

Thank you,

Conor Driscoll, ED.D.
