Good Morning and Happy Friday from Smith Academy!

This evening, we graduate our senior class of 2022! Congratulations to them on their accomplishments this year. Our ceremony starts at 7:00. Graduating seniors should be here for 6:30. Seating is on a first-come first-served basis. Doors will be open at 5:30 this evening. A representative from families may reserve seats in the non-reserved sections beginning at 5:30, but must stay in the gym until these seats are filled. Please be courteous that we have a larger graduating class and limit your reserved seats to immediate family members (parents, grandparents, siblings). It is our hope that all families will have quality seats near the stage to enjoy the commencement exercises.

Our boys baseball team has made the state tournament, and heads east to Westport for a 3:00 PM game tomorrow. Good luck to them!

It’s hard to believe, but next week is our last full week of school. Thursday and Friday, as well as the following Monday (6/9, 6/10 and 6/13), we will have an altered “Block” schedule to allow for some classes to hold final exams. Classes not holding final exams during that time will still be in session on those days. The school day will run as a it typically does, 7:30-2:00.

Underclass awards will be held on Monday, 6/13 at 12:30. If your child is receiving an award, you will be contacted next week (but please don’t tell your child).

Next week, we have high school Science MCAS on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The last day of school is Wednesday, 6/15/22. It will be a half day with dismissal at 11:15.

Have a wonderful weekend.
