Happy Friday from Smith Academy!

Thanks to everyone who came out last night for our Open House. It was great to see so many of you, and you cleaned the Student Council right out of cookies! Thanks to our teachers and staff who made the effort to be here late into the evening as well.

A reminder from our office: Please make sure to get any forms that were sent home with your child back into the school. These include pupil data forms, free and reduced lunch forms, medical forms, photo releases, etc.

Homecoming is coming up on October 15th! Classes are designing their floats and getting ready to sell concessions! The day will start at 8:00 with an awards ceremony at Smith Academy, followed by a parade around “the loop” at 8:30. For all details about the day, please see this flyer.

We’re also inviting alumni from Smith Academy to dress and purple and white and march under class signs and banners. Elementary school students are encouraged to decorate their bikes with purple and white streamers and tassels, and can ride with us, too. Tell all your friends, family and neighbors so we can get as many folks from the community as possible to join us!

Last night, during open house, I presented a slideshow that included information from many of our community support organizations. If you missed it, here is a link to the slideshow

Have a wonderful weekend!
