10/21/ 2022 Principal Newsletter

Dear Families,

  • Tomorrow is a half day with an 11:55 dismissal.  Tomorrow's spirit day is Wear a Necktie or Bow Tie Day!  As always, these are optional and students do not need to participate if they don’t want to.

  • Students in grades 4, 5 and 6 will be taking home their MCAS results in backpacks Friday.

  • I will be starting School Council soon!! This is a volunteer opportunity for a parent who can attend four meetings; November, January, March and May to guide the creation of our School Improvement Plan.  We will meet after school at the convenience of the group.  I have two teachers, one returning parent so I’m in need of one more parent.  Please contact me if you’re interested.  If there is more than one parent, we will conduct a vote.  Please reach out to me with any questions.

  • Please click HERE to view the flyer for tomorrow's movie night.

  • I’m excited to announce that we will be starting a Student Council with our 5th and 6th grade students.  These classroom leaders will be working with me to better Hatfield Elementary School!  They will  ‘run’ by making posters, giving a class speech about their character, and then we will hold elections.  We will invite 4th graders to join in February.

  • We have Natasha Lowe coming to read at our Title 1/ Bingo night on Wednesday, October 26th!  This event is open to all and will be in our cafeteria from 6:00-7:00 pm. We will provide pizza, drinks, cookies and a free book!

  • We will host our first All School Meeting on Friday, October 28 from 1:45-2:15 in our cafeteria/gymnasium.  These will be monthly and the day of the week and time of day will change to accommodate family schedules to ensure your participation if you are able. Ms. Millette’s sixth grade is our Master of Ceremonies and will dismiss students after the assembly.  Ms. Labombard’s third grade class will lead us in a greeting, Mr Higera’s fifth grade class will share or do an activity, Ms. Bosman’s class will lead our Birthday song, and I will conduct News and Announcements.  We hope you can join us!

  • Spooktacular is Friday, October 28th!!  We are collecting candy at arrival and dismissal for trunk-or-treat.

  • Mark your calendars, Monday, October 31st staff and students may come to school dressed as their favorite; book, graphic novel, or comic book character.  We respectfully request that students not come with; masks, face painting, or weapons.  More information will be shared by classroom teachers.
