Halloween Safety Reminders

Oct. 16.  For those who participate in Halloween activities, this time of year can be filled with fun and excitement.  Thanks to grassroots endeavors that have grown into nation-wide promotions, here are some health and safety awareness reminders to help each of us enjoy these times with our families....

National Safety Council Halloween Safety Tips

Food Allergy Research & Education: Teal Pumpkin Project is a simple way to make trick-or-treating safer and more inclusive for the one in 13 children living with food allergies, and many others impacted by intolerances and other conditions.

HPS Health & Wellness Policy Guidelines.  Remember to follow these guidelines when considering purchasing snacks for your child, for classroom celebrations and for fundraisers in school and discuss "A-List"  and USDA Smart Snacks options with your classroom teacher or building nurse in advance.

National Fire Protection Association:  "Fire Won't Wait - Plan Your Escape".  Each school year, Hatfield Fire Department leads fire escape drills for everyone in the HPS community.  Invite your children to use these valuable lessons learned to help you plan and practice your own family's fire escape drills.  Use resources from this year's recent Fire Prevention Week activities as a helpful guide.
