Coping with News about Violence

Jan. 30, 2023.  Our friends at HEADS Up have posted this important message for families:

HEADS Up deplores the escalation in violence here in our country, including the recent shooting at Holyoke Mall. The stress of seeing or being near violent events can be overwhelming for any of us.  If a member of your family, workplace, or community is showing any signs of trauma, we urge you to seek help.  Here are some resources to help all get started:

Sesame Street Resources

SAMHSA Coping with Violence  (US Substance Abuse & Mental Health Services Administration Resource)

APA Coping with Shootings  (American Psychological Association Resources)

Remember:  Call or Text 988 if you or a family member are in crisis at any time.
